Telegraph Hill

Another view of Telegraph Hill in San Francisco, later the same night that the shot from the previous post was taken. Coit Tower and the Bay Bridge are in the distance.

I like the starbursts and the warm color of the light in this one. The aperture was kept small (~f/12) to create the starburst effect.

Another great creation from the folks at the Albany Brass Ring Carousel. I had a chance to see and photograph the hippocampus during a visit last week. There was lots of carving activity going on with other animals which will be part of the incredible carousel.

A very chaotic-looking landing of a flock of geese on one of the lakes at the Finley National Wildlife Refuge. (No geese were hurt during the taking of this photograph.)

Early Signs of Spring

This clivia is an indoor plant, but it is blooming at the same time as the daffodils and crocuses outside. Spring is trying to come along very early this year.

Geese at Dusk

Geese are a regular sight here in the Willamette Valley (when not socked in with clouds), especially at dusk when lots of large flocks are in the air.

Berry College Mill

I've seen lots of photos of the old mill at Berry college and finally got a chance to see and photograph it myself.

Back from a trip to Georgia. While there, we rode through Berry College near Rome, a sanctuary for whitetail deer. There were hundreds grazing in the fields around the school. Most were far away like the ones above, but several posed for us close up.

Colors of the Rainbow

Here is a closeup view of the rainbow from the Jan. 27 post showing very clearly the progression of colors through the spectrum. It also demonstrates the color accuracy of the Canon 7D (with a Tamron 18-270mm lens).

Sunset

Last night's sunset. Clouds above the Coast Range tend to block the sunlight along the horizon that produces good sunsets, but last night the sunlight was able to squeeze through and color the clouds.
